TypeMates is a comparatively young foundry from Germany, founded in 2015 by Lisa Fischbach, Jakob Runge, and Nils Thomsen. Despite its young age, the foundry has already worked with large clients on custom typefaces and has managed to grow its catalogue of typefaces into an impressive collection of extremely high-quality, distinctive designs, collaborating with type designers from all around Europe.
Highlights of the collection are the indestructible Pensum Pro, the poetic (and TDC awarded) Resonay, the sturdy yet warm slab serif Harrison Serif Pro (also TDC awarded), the pragmatic constructed grotesk Halvar, and the unaffected and confident Norbert Superfamily by Philipp Neumeyer, which also just received a Certificate of Typographic Excellence by the Type Directors Club. TypeMates offer free demo fonts with a limited character set for all their typefaces.
